California’s Commercial ZNE Action Plan update is underway

The California Public Utilities Commission is kicking off the Commercial ZNE Action Plan which was last updated in 2011. This process will result in the next steps to move ZNE commercial buildings forward across California with input across stakeholder groups, and includes six key drivers to be addressed. Ultimately, the Action Plan intends to create ZNE buildings and districts that are integrated as key distributed energy resources that reduce greenhouse gases, enhance customer experience, and create more resilient communities.

The commercial plan compliments the Residential ZNE Action Plan. Both will be addressed during workshops on June 5 at the CPUC offices. From 9 a.m. to 12 noon meeting facilitators will be examining how the current Residential Action Plan connects with the 2018-2025 Program Administrator Business Plans and identifying places that both the CPUC can focus. Starting at 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., we’ll be tackling the commercial sections. To learn more about the process for ZNE Action Plan updates or to register for workshops, visit the links below.
